Papyrids

The Papyrids are an order of umbrella spiders that, to the untrained eye, are easily mistaken for ice umbrellas or parasol sticks.  All species within the Papyrids share the characteristic that they are consisting of wood and thin cardboard.  So far, the phenomenon of forming umbrella spider trees has only been observed in this group.  With Arachnea parapluviosis megaviralis they have a hypothetical candidate for the original form of umbrella spiders.  Paper umbrella spiders have been observed in Antwerp, Herzele, Ypres and possibly also in Leuven
Already discovered species within the Papyrids are :

Arachnea parapluviosis papyreum.
Arachnea parapluviosis papyreum, the common papery umbrella spider as a reminder of the murdered Arachnea parapluviosis louisiensis, observed in the deconsecrated Dominican church in Antwerp.
